Engine cooling fans — replacement

Warning: To avoid possible injury, keep clear of the fan blades, as they may start turning whenever the battery is connected!

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (see Engine electrical systems).

2. Disconnect the electrical connector at the fan motors and free the harness from the clips on the fan shroud (see illustration).

3. Drain the cooling system (see Tune-up and routine maintenance).

4. Remove the radiator and fan shroud as an assembly (see Troubleshooting).

5. Hold the fan blades and remove the fan retaining fastener(s) (see illustration).

6. Unbolt the fan motor(s) from the shroud (see illustration).

i. 6 Remove the screws and separate the motor from the shroud

7. Installation is the reverse of removal.
