Blower motor — removal and installation
Warning: The models covered by this manual are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), more commonly known as airbags. Always disable the airbag system before working in the vicinity of the impact sensors, steering column or instrument panel to avoid the possibility of accidental deployment of the airbag, which could cause personal injury (see Chassis electrical system).
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (see Engine electrical systems).
Note: The blower unit is located in the passenger’s compartment above the right front footwell.
2. Remove the right-side lower instrument panel fasteners, then remove the panel (see Body).
3. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) from the blower motor (see illustration).

4. Remove the screws and lower the unit from the housing.
5. If the motor is being replaced, transfer the fan to the new motor prior to installation.
6. Installation is the reverse of removal.
