Cowl cover and vent tray — removal and installation
Note: Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal before beginning
Cowl cover
1. Remove the wiper arms (see Chassis electrical system).
2. With a plastic trim tool, pry up and remove both sides of the fender-to-cowl trim seals (see illustration).
i. 2 With the hood open, carefully pry out the fender-to-cowl seal
3. Remove the two corner clips and disengage the remaining clips at the underside to remove the upper cowl panel cover (see illustrations).
i. 3a Remove these fasteners at each end by pushing in the center of the clip with a small screwdriver, then pulling the clip out …
i. 3b… release the claw fasteners at the underside…
i. 3c… then remove the cowling upper trim
4. Installation is the reverse of removal.
Vent tray
5. Remove the cowl cover (see previous Steps) and windshield wiper motor assembly (see Chassis electrical system).
6. Disengage the clip retaining the wiper motor wiring harness, then remove the vent tray mounting fasteners along the tray (see illustration).

7. Release the clip and remove the vent tray baffle, then guide the metal vent tray out of the engine compartment (see illustrations).
i. 7a Release the clip and remove the foam baffle.
i. 7b. . . then remove the metal vent tray
8. Installation is the reverse of removal.
